- Antidepressant drugs: Antidepressant drugs are one of the most effective methodsfor treating neuropathic pain. Tricyclic antidepressants and serotonin noradrenaline reuptake inhibitors are the two most common drugs prescribed.
- Nerve blocks: Under nerve blocks, the physician may inject you with steroids or anesthetics into the nerves that send pain signals. They are temporary and needs to be repeated at regular intervals.
- Implanting a device: In this procedure, the doctor implants a device in your body. This device sends impulses to the nerves which stop irregular nerve signals.
